Luxor is located just under 300 kilometres southwest of Hurghada. Sometimes called the world’s largest open air museum, it is a fascinating destination offering many incredibly well preserved monuments including the Temple of Luxor and the Karnak Temple. The area is comprised of three towns; Karnak, the city of Luxor and Thebes and spans both banks of the Nile River. Within the city of Luxor there is an assortment of cafes and restaurants, lodging and a variety of bazaars that offer all types of Egyptian souvenirs.
