How many of you are familiar with Grief Tourism? Not many I assume, it’s fairly new to me but having investigated it a fair bit, I realise it is quite a popular elements of the tourist industry, with particular growth over the past couple of years. For those that are not in the know, Grief Tourism involves visiting places, well, of grief. Areas in the country where individuals have suffered in some way, such as previous battlefields or haunted locations. Grief Tourism in England is particularly attractive, mainly due to the fierce battles that have been fought here, not to mention that the country is littered with haunted venues that will entice even the most nervy tourist. Battlefield tourism is particularly popular, not just in England but all over the world. Mainly due to the history that these areas possess and the stories that the locals have to tell about their family and ancestors. Ghost Tourism is particularly popular in the United Kingdom also. The UK boasts some of the most haunted locations ever documented due to its somewhat violent history. This is always huge draw for tourists who want to witness haunted locations first hand with a view of seeing a ghost first hand.
